It was John’s expressed wish that any donations given in his memory should benefit the Langham Partnership International (LPI) and the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) as the two ministries which he personally founded and which received the lion’s share of his attention and concern over the years. In accordance with John’s wishes, all worldwide donations will support the Langham Partnership, whilst donations from the UK and Ireland will be split evenly between LPI and LICC.

Langham Partnership International
Langham Partnership International was established so that John Stott’s vision for equipping Majority World pastors with scholarship, training and literature could thrive for generations to come. Your Memorial Fund donation will be used to enhance our existing programmes and launch strategic initiatives in new frontiers around the world.
“We look forward to the day when, in the Majority World:
- Seminaries will be able to offer their own PhDs, without any lowering of academic standards, enabling most of our scholars to study at institutions in their home countries,
- Authors will be able to write contextually appropriate books, and publishers will be able to print and distribute these books both locally and globally,
- Sustainable preaching movements will be developed which are “locally owned” in many countries around the world, particularly through the development of training networks and practical programmes of support.”
– John Stott – 2006
The London Institute for Contemporary Christianity

London Institute for Contemporary Christianity was founded by John Stott in 1982 with the core belief that every part of our lives comes under the Lordship of Christ, and that all of life is a context for worship, mission, ministry and active Christian engagement – Monday to Monday, weekdays as well as weekends, at work as well as in local communities.
LICC’s role is to be a dynamic catalyst to transform the culture of the UK church and we work to ensure that Christians are properly envisioned, trained, resourced and supported for living and sharing the Gospel in our rapidly changing world.
We pursue this mission by:
LICC has a broad teaching programme, including training courses, evening lectures and speaking at conferences and churches, designed to equip people with the tools to connect the Word of God to the world we live in and the issues we all face.
Critically, LICC also has an intentional strategy as an ‘influencing’ institution to bring whole-life discipleship and mission to the centre of church thinking and strategy within denominations, and we are working closely with, amongst others, the Baptist Union of Great Britain, Elim and the Salvation Army.
Wherever possible we work in partnership with others, and our partners include the Evangelical Alliance, Spring Harvest, Premier Radio and Alpha in the Workplace.
